Pass Powderkeg Ski Area

Situated in the picturesque Crowsnest Pass of south-west Alberta, the Pass Powderkeg Ski Area (PPK) offers a family-friendly and welcoming alpine skiing experience. Established in 1938, this community ski resort is most renowned for its sunny conditions and its commitment to an open atmosphere for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels.

The ski area features 27 runs, which amount to a total downhill ski and vertical run of 7 kilometers and 305 meters (1,000 feet), respectively. Also, the resort is equipped with two T-bars and a magic carpet, providing quick access to its variety of runs.

The ski school of the resort offers different programs for adults and children at various skill levels, such as the “Learn to Turn” lesson for teaching beginners how to ski.

One of the greatest aspects of PPK is its night skiing, where visitors have the ability to ski the mountain at dusk. The mid-mountain day lodge serves as a meeting area, complete with dining accommodations and a hot room where people can sit and thaw out after a run or two.

During warmer months, PPK is a mountain biker’s haven, with trails that serve various levels of proficiency. The year-round operation is a testament to the resort’s devotion to outdoor recreation and people interaction.
