Powder King Mountain Resort located in Northeastern British Columbia. With 925 acres of skiable terrain with 38 runs and a 2,100-foot (640-meter) vertical drop. With a mix of beginner-friendly and intermediate runs and also an uncrowded condition, it attract thousands of skiers and snowboarders enjoy the slope every year. You can take 2-hour drive from Prince George or 8.5 hours from Vancouver (Quite a long way) with snowy Highway 97. You should have chains or at least 4WD. Also, you can drive from Mackenzie, it take 68 km (45 minutes) east on Highway 39 to Highway 97. Taking a flight is another great option. You can fly into Prince George Airport (YXS, 195 km away) through Air Canada or WestJet from Vancouver (~1.5 hours). And then just rent a car (~CAD 50–120/day) and drive 2 hours. On the other side, Dawson Creek (YDA, 210 km) or Grande Prairie (YQU, 220 km) are alternatives.
The terrain variety make it special. With 34% beginner, 42% intermediate, 24% expert runs across 925 acres, with glades, pillows, and steeps below the treeline and alsoBeatles-themed run names (e.g., Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane). In addition, their ticket price is quite affortable, like day tickets (~CAD 50–75) and rentals (~CAD 30–50) are cheap compared to large resorts. Noted that it has been Hosted Canadian Olympic ski cross and boardercross teams (2007–2010). Moreover, there are 3 total lift including one triple chair (mid-mountain), one T-bar (summit, hike to true peak), one handle tow (beginners).
