Canyon Ski Resort

Along the picturesque banks of the Red Deer River, within driving distance of the city of Red Deer, Canyon Ski Resort is Alberta’s biggest family non-mountain ski resort. There are 80 acres of terrain and 23 diverse runs served by six efficient lifts, two chairlifts, and four surface lifts that can move over 5,000 guests per hour.

Canyon Ski Resort has something for every skier and snowboarder. Beginners have room to get their legs on groomed runs, intermediate skiers have varied trails in which to hone their skills, and advanced skiers and riders can challenge themselves on expert runs, including a double black diamond run. Freestyle skiers and riders will enjoy the groomed Terrain Park to work on tricks and jumps.

Other than downhill snowboarding and skiing, the resort also features a Snow Tube Park with family and group tube runs for visitors who would like to try other snow sports. To complement it all, there is a cozy cafeteria and a warm lounge within the base area that is perfect for relaxation and reminiscing after a day of thrill. The Canyon’s dedication to quality is evident through its massive snow-making machine that covers the slopes by a whopping 95% to provide the conditions absolutely perfect throughout the entire winter season.
