Only 10 minutes south of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park is a community-based recreational site that provides a wide variety of outdoor activities all year round. Founded in 1960 as a non-profit entity, the facility has grown into a complex recreation site and hosts over 40,000 visitors per winter season.
During winter, Nitehawk features nine snowboard and ski runs of all difficulties, serviced by a mogul patch, halfpipe, and two terrain parks. The complex features a Summit T-Bar, Platter Lift, and two magic carpets for easy slope access. Here, the runs are all fully illuminated, offering the unique privilege of night skiing. Additionally, the Aquatera Tube Zone and Adventure Zone provide some winter snow family-friendly activities.
The on-resort rental and tune shop are equipped with over 250 pairs of skis and 100 snowboards for use by guests of all ages. CSIA- and CASI-certified staff offer both group and private lessons, with an encouraging environment for new skiers and experienced ski enthusiasts alike.
Along with winter sports, Nitehawk is a summer wonderland with its Gravity Mountain Bike Park (currently being renovated), trails for hiking, and RV campground year-round, making up of 84 fully serviced sites. The park also hosts several events, from trail racing to summer camps, and thus is the outdoor recreation hub of the Peace Country.
Nitehawk’s commitment to community and accessibility is evident in its range of programs and facilities, making it an ideal destination for groups, families, and adventure-seekers of all kinds in any season.
